💡 Strategy: Master NCERT first — many JEE Main questions are directly from NCERT concepts. Then move to advanced books. Solve 15+ years of previous JEE Main papers.

Sample Questions

Q1. (Physics) A particle moves in a circle of radius r with uniform speed v. The magnitude of acceleration is:
A) 0
B) v²/r
C) v/r
D) rv
Answer: B — Uniform circular motion has centripetal acceleration = v²/r directed towards the centre.
Q2. (Chemistry) The number of unpaired electrons in Fe³⁺ (atomic number 26) is:
A) 3
B) 4
C) 5
D) 6
Answer: C — Fe³⁺ electronic configuration: [Ar] 3d⁵. All 5 d-electrons are unpaired (half-filled stability).
Q3. (Maths) The value of ∫₀^π sin(x) dx equals:
A) 0
B) 1
C) 2
D) π
Answer: C — ∫sin(x)dx = −cos(x). Evaluated from 0 to π: −cos(π) + cos(0) = 1 + 1 = 2.

⚠️ Common Mistakes: Neglecting NCERT (esp. Chemistry), skipping numerical practice, over-relying on coaching notes without solving papers, poor time management in mocks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What percentile is needed for a top NIT?
99+ percentile for CS/IT at top NITs (Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal). ~96 percentile for core branches at Tier-1 NITs.
Q: Can I appear for JEE Main without dropping a year?
Yes — students appear right after Class 12. Two sessions (Jan + April) mean you can appear in both while doing Class 12 exams.
Q: What is the difference between JEE Main and JEE Advanced?
JEE Main → NITs, IIITs, CFTIs. Top 2.5 lakh Main scorers become eligible for JEE Advanced (harder) → IITs.
Q: Is 75% in Class 12 mandatory?
For NIT/IIIT/CFTI admission through JoSAA: yes, 75% (or top 20 percentile in your board). SC/ST need 65%.
